Road Trip

After checking the weather reports and talking with our hosts, they suggested driving to Killarney and viewing a Victorian home and old Abby rather than driving to Dingle and looking at fog.

We made a few stops on our way with big traffic jams in Killarney as it was their annual horse racing weekend. Lots of fancy hats and outfits. We arrived at Muckross House in time for a guided tour.  (See muckross-house.ie).
Took a buggy ride to an old Abby and around the grounds.
Then decided that it was only 30 minutes to Dingle, so since we missed the cliffs and it wasn't raining what the heck.
Arrived at 6:00, had dinner in a pub, left at 7:00 and home by 9:30.

Abby in Adare where the Monks source of protein was pigeons.

Note the pigeon on top. A pigeon house below.  They would fly into a hole in the center of the roof and nest inside to fatten up.

At Dingle.  These tractors were a lot of fun to meet on the road!
