Made it to St. Moritz

We had a light lunch at the HIExpress and caught the 8 o'clock shuttle to the airport to meet the group.  We found them in plenty of time and were told that a flight had been delayed and we would leave at 9:30 instead of 8:30.

So at 10:10 we were loaded on a double decker bus, pulling a huge trailer full of luggage, for a 3 1/2 hour trip to St Moritz.

The roads were pretty scary.  Narrow, steep, windy and being on the top of the bus made it more exciting!

We took a 20 minute break half way through in Heidi country.  The guide advised that it cost 1 franc to use the facilities and she came through the bus handing out the coins.  It was a cute stop in the Heidi theme with goats and every 15 minutes the tower would start playing Heidi music and figures would pop out like a giant coo coo clock.

We finally pulled into our hotel and were quickly checked in.  There must have been a dozen employees lined up to welcome us and they have been very attentive all the time.

We went up to our room and had the most amazing view of the roof and a few buildings.  Well, it wouldn't hurt to ask for a different room since 'Pam would have to spend a lot of time in the room with her injury.'

Put your sling back on, were going downstairs.

We went down from our 4th floor room and explained the situation and were told to wait 15 minutes and they would see what they could do.  They found one on the 8th floor, but it doesn't have a balcony.  Our 4th floor room didn't either.  They showed it, we said great, they brought up our bags and we've been enjoying the view ever since!!

Rats, no balcony

Our hotel taken from across the lake.

We have the 2 windows on the right.  We were told that the tower used to be the water tower for the hotel.

We had a welcome dinner Sunday night that was across the street and served family style with a dozen different dishes.  Sat with a good group and hit the sack.
