Afternoon at the Souks

We had a late breakfast and wandered around the souks in the old town. Lots of small shops in a maze of streets and alleys.

People sharing alley ways with motorcycles, bike, and donkeys. Lots of people trying to guide you to their shop or its general direction.

Yes those are bees on the cheesecake!

After three hours we were looking for the exit and were 'guided' out by a kid who I'm sure took us around the block and back they way we were heading so I gave him my only coin, about $1.20, and he wanted more for his 10 minute trip.

We made it out to the chaos square and towards transportation. The monkeys were out and watched snakes being tossed on people's necks. We steered clear of that. I found a restaurant on the edge of the square where we could eat on the rook for a reasonable price. So we made reservations for us and another couple.

We approached a horse carriage and negotiated a price to get us home as our feet and bodies were tired. It was about a ten minute ride. I trekked down to the ATM and store for supplies.

Our dinner partners did the Atlas mountain tour and got back later than expected, but we had time for a quick cocktail and rode the buggy right to the restaurant for the same price Pam and I paid for 2.

Good meal and great view. When we were done eating it started to sprinkle so we headed to the horses and they asked for 3 times what it cost to get there. 30 seconds later we were on board for the original price.

Haggling is required by everyone! We hit the rack pretty early.
