Meeting and Old City tour

Here's one for Melissa to add to her metal people collection!
Here's one for Drew and Jason.  A 16 bar foosball table.  8 players.

We had our mandatory two hour meeting in the morning and then the spouses joined for another hour or so. A guy leaned over and said, "So you are from Longview, WA. Do you know a doctor named John Richards?" I said that I have heard of him. He said that he went to high school and Dartmoth together. I then told him that Pam worked for him for many years and that he stuck his finger up my rear end more than anyone else!

It is a good group and one of the Maritz's people is the same guy who met us at the Buenos Aires hotel lobby at midnight when we came back from the waterfalls.

In the afternoon we took a tour of the old town that ended in a 'spice shop'. Lots of people, narrow streets, donkeys, and mopeds.

Going into the community bakery.  Women make their dough in the morning and bring it to the local brick oven where it is baked.  They pick it up later and pay a small charge.

An old building that was used as a school.

The spice shop was entertaining, but really just a high-pressure sales pitch. I felt like I was in a timeshare presentation. 30 of us were crowded into a small room as he told us about all the spices that would cure everything.

The snake oil salesman and his lovely assistants and victims.

There were at least 4 of these rooms used for 'time share' sales.  I asked the guide on the bus ride back if we broke any records for sales.  He checked his phone and said we did pretty good.  (He gets a cut of the action.)

We invited another couple up to our room for drinks prior to dinner and ate at a nearby restaurant.

  1. Keep it coming. Sounds like you're having a great time (even without us.) Can't wait to debrief you (not what you're thinking, Reed) when you get home!

    With love, Sharon
