On our way East

After a busy day at work and packing, Pam got Libby delivered to Joel and Janice and we headed out at about 6. We arrived at our motel, the Stay-bridge Suites at 7:00 and were told that happy hour was going for another half hour with beer, wine, cheese, tossed salad, and pulled pork sliders. We decided to unpack in about half an hour.

Our room was a one bedroom apartment. Stove, fridge with freezer and ice maker, nice counter tops with an eating nook and two low bar chairs, dish washer, glasses, plates and all the trimmings. Nice big tv and hide a bed and desk. Separate bedroom with another tv.

Complete with 10 days parking. All for a little more than long term parking. (We weren't going to ask anyone to drive us down at 4:00 a.m. and pick us up at midnight!)

Up at 4:15 and on the 5 a.m. shuttle. Arrived at JFK at about 3:30 and in our hotel a little after 4. This room is the size of the bedroom of last nights. Close to the airport, but a little ragged.

We decided to go into the city tonight instead of in the morning just in case. [We've had too many close calls, Tokyo, Frankfurt on Easter...]. So it was the hotel shuttle to the Federal Circle Station, part of JFK. The Air Train to Jamaica Station, the Long Island Railroad to Penn Station, the subway to 50th.

Popped out of the ground a few blocks from Times Square on Broadway. Ate in the bar of an Irish Pub and had a good meal. We walked through Times Square and every building had a HUGE flat screen covering at least 5 stories! Way worse than the billboards on I-5 at Fife!

Took the Times Square subway back and reversed the process. Back to our closet room by 9:00.

We head out at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow and arrive at Casablanca the next morning and take a bus to Marrakech. There are a bunch of other Jones folks here, but there isn't much of a lobby so we headed to our 'room'.
